CBS attempted to scare up millions of viewers with Stalker Season 1 Episode 1 on Wednesday night.
The new series comes from the frightening mind of producer Kevin Williamson (Scream, The Vampire Diaries, The Following) and it stars Maggie Q (Nikita) and Dylan McDermott (like, every show ever) as detectives who investigate incidents of stalking.
Hence the very creative title.
These law enforcement officials look into cases that range from voyeurism… to cyber harassment… to romantic fixation as they represent the Threat Assessment Unit of the LAPD.
McDermott plays Jack Larsen and Maggie Q portrays his boss, Lt. Beth Davis. Both have their own personal issues and their own personal demons, but they aim to keep those at bay before the stalking and intimidation spirals out of control across Los Angeles.
The series has received some flak for being too brutal, a complaint Williamson often receives for his work on The Following as well.
It’s also received some flak for being, well, really, really boring. Which is a different topic altogether.
