It's official and it's exciting:
Ricky Ubeda now KNOWS he can dance!
The contemporary dancer was named the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Season 11 last night, overcoming fellow finalists Zack Everhart, Jessica Richens and Valerie Rockey on a finale that included performances Enrique Iglesias and Sean Paul.
As you can see, Ubeda was overwhelmed by emotion after host Cat Deeley called his name.
“To be named America’s Favorite Dancer means that I have done what I had set out to do: to make individuals feel something through my movement. I am extremely humbled to know that so many enjoy my craft,” said Ubeda.
For his victory, Ubeda earns the following prizes:
- A $250,000 check.
- The cover of Dance Spirit Magazine.
- The offer of a role in the upcoming Broadway revival of “On The Town."
He'll also be a part of the SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE Live Tour, which kicks off Tuesday, October 1 at the Saenger Theatre in New Orleans.
Everhart, meanwhile, finished in 4th place; Richens in 3rd place; and Rockey in 2nd place.
The latter danced with Ricky for a majority of the season and, in her Top 4 package, she said of the eventually winner: "Ricky, you're such a beautiful dancer. I learned so much from you."
Congrats all around!
