Miley Cyrus kept her clothes on for a performance in San Juan over the weekend.

But now the singer is under fire for wearing something extra on stage.

During a performance of the track "23," Cyrus donned a prosthetic rear end while Twerking, with some in attendance even noting that the fake body part was a darker shade than Miley’s skin color.

Cyrus and a few fellow artists (Katy Perry, Taylor Swift) have drawn ire over the past several months for stereotyping African-American women, either using them as faceless props to Twerk or outwardly mocking them, as Miley appears to be doing here.

It’s conceivable, of course, that Miley is also just poking fun at friend Nicki Minaaj.

Or at herself for having a very non-Kim Kardashian like butt.

But knowing Miley Cyrus, and the way she prides herself on her untamed, anti-establishment nature, it’s more likely that she’s sticking a middle finger up at her critics and proving that she can do whatever she wants to on stage.

Which is legally very much true, of course.

But does that mean she should?
