Michelle Duggar on Jessa Duggar Engagement, Jill Duggar Pregnancy: It's a Joyful Time!

by at . Comments

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar just can't believe that two of their eldest daughters, Jill and Jessa Duggar, are growing up and starting families of their own.

With Jill Duggar pregnant with her first child, and Jessa engaged to Ben Seewald, the 19 Kids and Counting parents are going through a  transitional period.

"Now that it's actually happening, there are all of these wonderful mixed emotions," Michelle wrote on her blog of watching her girls grow up and start families.

"It's so exciting, shocking, and surprising all at the same time."

"Jill and Derick, and Jessa and Ben, are becoming best friends and really getting to know each other in such a sweet way when the right one comes along."

"You get the joy of watching a loving relationship unfold."

Michelle couldn't be happier to see her kids in love, but there's an element of sadness, too. "It's good, not bad, yet change is sometimes hard," she said.

Her daughter Jordyn, 5, is having a particularly hard time with all the new developments, and burst into tears one day when Jessa left with her fiance's family.

"She was worried that Jessa was leaving for good," Michelle wrote. "I had to comfort her and reassure her that Jessa wasn't married yet, just going for a visit."

Soon Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald will be married, however, though Michelle tells her younger kids this will only mean "even more great adventures."

"Not only will Jessa get married, but we get Ben and the fun of spending time with them," she writes. "We'll be adding that much more love and fun to our family."

With Ben moving in with the Duggars especially!

Still, it's not just the little kids having a hard time: "When [Jim Bob] talks about the girls getting married, he gets a little teary-eyed," Michelle shared.

"It's a big deal for a dad to let go of his girls. He's handing them over, but he's handing them over to some really great guys, so it's a joyful time."

With plenty more joy to come soon enough.

Fans will get to see Jessa get engaged (and married before long), and Jill get married (and pregnant) when they watch 19 Kids and Counting this fall.

These people who pray about everything and apparently always get an answer use that as an excuse for all they do! El creepy gets teary? Please he is jealous he will lose control !as for Saint Michelle the worlds biggest hypocrite .. Read the book where she had several boyfriends prior to El creepy and it's hinted that she wasn't a virgin oh horror! But as usual she prayed and all was set right! How dares she give advise on purity when she had been around the block

I still want to know why none of the girls are allowed to wear pants...ugh.

@ Laura

They are allowed, they just don're have the interest to.

I call BS on their so-called Christian ways. I'm a Christian and I sin, no doubt about that. However they try to use their religion to cover up their child hoarding ways. They only want the children from THEIR loins. Wouldn't it be a Christian act to adopt or take in a foster child who has been abandoned and could use the love and guidance of a family? Maybe be a part of big brother or sister? They are hypocritical.

These people are not "real" christian's . Gluttony is a sin in the bible. I wish they would go away.

@ Darkhorse

I am sorry, what is a "real" Christian to you? Someone that doesn't sin? Someone that is perfect? A real Christian treats other people how they would want to be treated, doesn't lie and slander others, and is careful with the resources they have been given and is not wasteful. Real Christians follow the golden rule that Jesus laid out for us. The Duggars do not practice the sin of gluttony. But they do sin. Because all people sin and need the grace of God. It must be hard looking down on us all from your high and mighty pedestal.

Clearly they are not marrying because of romantic love...it's more out of dogmatic fundamental "Christian" order. But however, it's a beautiful thing to see these strong young people living simple and approaching their relationships simple by guidance of the parents.

Ben's living in a separate guest house on the Duggar property, since his own family lives so far away.

so where does it say in the bible that people who are married can't live with their in-laws?? Seriously, some people need to read the bible before they start spouting their ignorance.

@ diane

They practice gluttony! Period. That is a sin.

@ Darkhorse

Gluttony is by definition an over indulgence in food or drink or wealth to the point of excessive waste which is the direct opposite of this family. They are frugal, buy many of their items and clothes second hand, make their soap and laundry detergent, etc. They are very careful with their money and do not put anything on credit, they don't purchase anything they don't have the money to pay for up front. Lying and slandering another persons name is a mortal sin, something you should take note of since you are so eager to point out other people's sins.

@ Darkhorse

They are not practicing gluttony. Stop spewing your lies!

They Are'nt Following The BIBLE As They PROCLAIM!!!

Ben moving in with the Duggars? Will poor Jessa never escape?

Damn Jill is already popping the babies.
