Melissa Rivers released a new statement today in which she expressed gratitude for all the support she and her family have received ever since her famous mother was hospitalized on August 28.
It had been expected that Joan Rivers would be revived from her medically-induced coma this morning, but Melissa says the comedian remains in dire trouble.
"On behalf of my mother and our family, we are extremely grateful for all the love and support we've received. At this time, she does remain on life support," Melissa said.
She added: "I know my mother would be overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of kindness, and I want to thank everyone for keeping us in their prayers."
The Fashion Police host was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City late last week after she stopped breathing during a routine throat procedure.
Physicians then placed her in coma until Sunday, at which point they began the slow process of bringing her out of it.
According to The New York Daily News, doctors still hope to be able to assess potential damage to her Joan's brain at some point today or tonight.
In the meantime, a scheduled taping of her E! show program has been canceled.
