Emma Watson is condemning not only this week's stunning celebrity nude picture scandal but the lack of empathy shown by commenters in its aftermath.
Watson lamented the "lack of empathy" shown by social media users over the breech of privacy that saw hundreds of intimate celebrity photos leaked.
Jennifer Lawrence nude photos hit particularly close to home for Emma, as the two stars are friends. Watson personally has yet to be victimized.
Nevertheless, she decried the scandal on Twitter, writing:
"Even worse than seeing women's privacy violated on social media is reading the accompanying comments that show such a lack of empathy."
At least one prominent female actress would agree.
Lena Dunham called the hacker a sex offender and lambasted fans who said the celebs brought it on themselves for taking nude pics to begin with.
Among others cyber-violated by this 4Chan user include Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Kate Upton, Kirsten Dunst and Kaley Cucoo.
Victoria Justice and Ariana Grande have both said that the alleged nude pictures of them are fake, while Lawrence’s spokesperson verified their authenticity.
In response to a revealing
Kate Upton topless photo, her reps said they are “looking into” the authenticity of the images and ready to take legal action.
The 4Chan hacker claims to have a Jennifer Lawrence sex video, though he has yet to post that online (ditto most of his alleged treasure trove).
Meanwhile, the FBI is investigating the apparent iCloud breach that allowed the provocative images to be stolen in one of the leak's biggest scandals.
J-Law really loves posing for nude selfies. Unfortunately for her, someone broke into her private collection.
JV is a varsity-level ladies' man. Not only has he bagged Kate Upton the hacking scandal revealed that Verlander had taken nude photos of several of his other conquests.
McKayla claims the supposed photos of her are fakes. Even so, she's pissed, and she posted a hilarious tweet informing the hacker that he "needs Jesus."
Sure, Kim Kardashian used "leaked" nudity to boost her career, but some women would rather succeed by virtue of their talent and hard work. Crazy, right?

Did you see the movie Sex Tape. Well, neither did anyone else, but hear it's all about how the Apple's iCloud can lead to embarrassment. We're guessing some selfie-happy stars are wishing they'd watched the flick.
Thankfully, most of the leaked pics have been removed by now. However, we will miss the sight of Hope Solo's bare badokadonk.
A Twitter page for "The Fappening" had thousands of followers within an hour of its creation. The account has since been suspended.
This is the second time that phony Ariana naked pics have hit the Internet. Sadly, that'll probably be a recurring trend throughout the singer's career.

Did you even hear that RiRi was one of the alleged hacking victims? Probably not, because she didn't respond to the scandal in any way. Plus, we've all seen her naked before!
Taking nudie pics with your partner can be a fun bonding experience, but learn from J-Law's example and exercise caution! Maybe this whole episode will spark a resurgence in Polaroid sales.
Seriously, they're pretty great.
