This may not rank among the worst examples of Photoshop ever assembled, but that says more about those examples than it does this particular case.
Fella Swim's retouched photos featuring Australian model Meaghan Kausman did not sit well with Meghan herself. Kausman posted this photo on Instagram:
Kausman is not missing a limb or anything like that, but the side by side comparison - one pic prior to editing and one from after - is still striking.
Not only was her stomach slimmed down, the rest of her body appears retouched, too. The most important part of her post, however, is its caption.
The model condemns the obvious editing as evidenced here, labeling it as "shocking", adding, "my body is a size 8, not a size 4. That’s my body!"
She goes on, incredulously, to state, "I refuse to stand by and allow ANY company or person to perpetuate the belief that 'thinner is better.' EVER!"
"All women are beautiful, and we come in different shapes and sizes! This industry is crazy!!!! It is NOT OKAY to alter a woman’s body to make it look thinner!"
Bustle reported Monday that Fella has since deleted the photo and issued an apology, but that hasn't stopped both Kausman from raising the level of debate.
