Actress Marilyn Burns, who is best known for starring in the original 1974 Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, has died this week at the age of 65.
News of her passing was first reported late last night.
A rep for the actress told TMZ that she was discovered on August 5 by a family member in Houston, adding that the cause of death is still unknown.
No further information was immediately available.
Burns' character famously survived Leatherface in the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie and went on to make cameos in the 1994 and 2013 sequels.
The Scream Queen, as she was nicknamed, also appeared in other notable horror films such as Eaten Alive, and the TV mini-series Helter Skelter.
