The fatal shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri on Saturday has led to major unrest in this small midwestern town.

Clashes between cops and civilians reached especially dangerous levels last night, as authorities reacted to the racially-charged tension by dropping tear gas on protestors.

The violence has grown so widespread and the topic at hand so controversial that many celebrities have responded to the situation in Ferguson with statements of anger and sympathy on Twitter.

"This is about racism. I hate to break it to you, my friend," John Legend wrote in response to a Twitter user, addressing the police and saying it "sows fear and heightens the tension when people see weapons of war pointed at them."
