Her personal life may be in shambles, but Beyonce is about to be recognized for her very impressive professional accomplishments.
As Jay-Z divorce rumors continue to circulate around the singer, MTV has announced that it will honor Beyonce with its highest award on August 24:
She will be given the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2014 VMAs.
"Over the course of MTV history, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award has been presented to exemplary musicians who have made an incredible and long-lasting impact on pop culture," the network said via press release.
"When it came time to choose the 2014 VMA recipient, one particular name stood out above the rest - global entertainer, singer-songwriter, and philanthropist Beyonce."
Beyonce will also perform at the event.
Past recipients of this honor include Madonna, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Michael Jackson himself, who won back in 1988.
It's finally a piece of positive news for Beyonce, who may be on tour with her husband, but that doesn't mean all is going well.
Various (anonymous) insiders claim Bey and Jay barely speak before or after their concerts, with the latest Life & Style issue claiming Jay-Z is a cheater... and Beyonce can't live with a cheater!
Really, who among us could?
