The Real Housewives of New Jersey are back for Season 6 Episode 1, and we saw Teresa and Joe Giudice’s legal troubles start to unfold on the premiere.
Teresa is living a nightmare, people, but she is wide awake.
If you watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online, or even if you don't, you probably know Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice are often at odds.
Not this season, at least not now. They are no longer fighting, while Dina Manzo has returned ... but the huge change is clearly Teresa's legal woes.
With a Teresa Giudice prison sentence for fraud looming, and their lives hanging in the balance, they're leaning on their close friends and family.
Which, apparently, they still have an abundance of.
Dina Manzo and Teresa have been friends for over 20 years, and we saw them discuss how Teresa has really been handling all of her legal stresses.
Totally unscripted, off-the-cuff conversations here.
“I had a normal life, and now I’m in this nightmare, I just want to wake up and for everything to be like it was, and that’s the truth,” the reality star laments.
“Like anything else, things go up and down, nothing is perfect,” she adds before heading to a party thrown by Melissa’s friend and new star Amber Marchese.
As she introduces herself to the two other new cast members, twins Teresa Aprea and Nicole Napolitano, Teresa knows all eyes are on her now.
“Hiding is the easy way out, and I’ll never do that," she says of the celebrity gossip scrutiny. "I can’t stop [the talk], but it’s always in the back of my mind.”
If only it were as easy on their four daughters.
In the episode, young Gia, 13, breaks down while her father Joe Giudice is giving an emotional speech in honor of his grandmother’s 80th birthday.
Following Joe’s heartfelt speech, thanking his family for always being so supportive, Gia tells him, "You did a really great job, I love you so much.”
Joe’s dad and Teresa then share an embrace.
Everyone lets Gia know that no matter what happens in life, she will always be surrounded by people who love and care about her. It's a sweet moment.
Will there be more of them to come? Or just hardship for a family on the cusp of being torn apart? All we can do is stay tuned, Bravo fans. Stay tuned.
