Saturday Night Live Shakeup: Who's Out Now?

by at . Comments

The Saturday Night Live shakeup continues.

A day after Brooks Wheelan confirmed via Twitter that he's been let go from the iconic sketch comedy show, sources confirm to Deadline that Noël Wells and John Milhiser are also on the way out.

Just like Wheelan, these two cast members joined SNL in September 2013.

Wells and Milhiser

Milhiser scarcely received any screen time throughout his one-season run, though he did impress with impressions of Jon Cryer and Matthew McConaughey.

Wells (who does a strong Zooey Deschanel, Kristen Stewart and Lena Dunham) was the only female to be hired last year, with Sasheer Zamata not coming on board until January.

Considering Nasim Pedrad is almost definitely leaving in the fall (she stars on the new Fox sitcom Mulaney), most expected Wells to be featured more prominently throughout SNL's 40th season.

Instead, she's received the boot.

An obvious rebuild is underway by Lorne Michaels. So if we were other short-term players (looking at you, Beck Bennett, Colin Jost, Kyle Mooney and Mike O’Brien), we might not wanna buy any real estate in New York City.

LeAnn & Eddie Ratings: Incredibly Awful!

LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian's reality show was a ratings disaster. The couple will almost certainly not be back for a second season.

The show needs a MAJOR overhaul & in my opinion they need to bring in somebody the viewers are somewhat familiar with. The overall talent level on the show the last 5 years or so has been BAD. Except for Colin Jost, I don't find any of the current male comedians funny. The female cast members are OK but FAR from the comedic talents of ladies like Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Cheri Oteri & Molly Shannon. I used to look forward to the show every week & although I still tune in often, it's usually to see the guest host or musical guest. Even the hosts & musicians have been sub-par in recent years overall. They need to bring back some past talent and/or go back to what worked in previous years. Whats being put on air now sure isn't doing it!
