Team Lisa is taking on new meaning on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, as Lisa Vanderpump is taking new cast member Lisa Rinna under her wing.
Wednesday, when Vanderpump received a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Fame, her longtime friend Rinna and her husband, Harry Hamlin, were on hand.
“Lisa Vanderpump is going out of her way to make sure that she can count on Lisa Rinna this season,” a source close to the Bravo reality series said.
“Last year, Lisa (Vanderpump) was left out in the cold as all of the ladies turned on her.”
“They have been social acquaintances for years, but Vanderpump is truly going the extra mile to welcome Lisa (Rinna) to the show,” the source continued.
Lisa Rinna joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills came to pass after she made a trial run in front of the cameras at Kyle Richards’ White Party in June.
Clearly a hit with the Bravo producers, she finally accepted an offer to join the cast.
Signing Rinna was a coup for the show, as it also helped convince Vanderpump, who initially held off on signing on for another season, to re-up.
The restaurant owner had been earning $250,000, but that increased to $500,000, giving her one of the higher Real Housewives of Beverly Hills salaries.
Fellow newcomer Eileen Davidson, meanwhile, is already the highest paid.
Like Rinna, Davidson brings a soap opera background to the reality show, with the daytime stars replacing the fired Carlton Gebbia and Joyce Giraud.
Show insiders say the coming fifth season is shaping up to be the best yet.
“It’s going to be very exciting, and there have already been some fireworks!” the source said. “There will be tons of drama to leave viewers wanting more.”
We would expect nothing less. Nothing less.
