These days, Lana Del Rey is all over James Franco, but according to a recent interview with Complex magazine, when she was a struggling, unknown singer in her early 20s, Lana was all over, well...everybody.
"I have slept with a lot of guys in the industry, but none of them helped me to get my record deals," says Lana. "Which is annoying."
Wait, what?! Did she really just admit to trying and failing to exchange sex for recording contracts?
The matter came up as a result of a track off Lana's new album entitled "F--ked My Way to the Top," which is about exactly what you'd expect.
LDR has a history of making surprising remarks during when talking with the press (she recently told Rolling Stone to find a different cover girl mid-interview), but we're thinking she may regret revealing that F--ked is based on real-life experiences.
It's not just the fact that Lana admits to using sex to boost her career that's likely to cost her some feminist fans, it's the way she talks about it without an ounce of regret.
When Lana says it's "annoying" that she wasn't able to bang her way into the recording studio, one gets the impression she'd do it all again if she thought it would pay off.
The latest rumors have Lana dating Francesco Carrozzini at the moment.
He's a respected Vogue photographer, but isn't known to have any major connections in the music industry. We hope for his sake that Lana is happy with the state of her career.
