Derek Jeter will retire at the end of the 2014 MLB season, and with the year's halfway point upon us, tributes to the legendary Yankees shortstop have begun rolling in.
Earlier today, Nike unveiled a 2-minute commercial set to air during Tueday's All Star Game in which fans ranging from Spike Lee to Carmelo Anthony to a group of begrudgingly respectful Bostonians all tip their caps in tribute to El Capitan.
A group of Mets even join in the show of respect. Fortunately, their faces are digitally blurred so as to keep their lockers un-vandalized by teammates.
As for Mr. Met, himself, well...he probably should've thought twice before appearing in the spot. Dude's got the world's most recognizable head.

If you're a Yankees fan, you may find yourself fighting back tears, but while you may want to cry for the future of the team, you should never cry for Derek.
He may be retiring from baseball, but he's got a bright future of playing the field ahead of him, if ya know what we mean.
