When it first hit theaters in 2012, The Avengers set box office records that might never be broken. But if any movie can reach a billion dollars even faster than the first film, it’s the highly-anticipated sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Today, Entertainment Weekly gave us our first look at the guaranteed-blockbuster, and the squeals of fanboy glee can be heard across the land.

Not only does the cover promise “Marvel’s biggest movie ever,” but the photo marks the official debut of the film’s villain, Ultron, who will be portrayed by James Spader

Yeah, Spader isn’t the first actor that springs to mind when we look at that hulking mass of adamantium, but we trust that director Joss Whedon and company know what they’re doing.

In addition to the returning motley crew of superheroes, Avengers: Age of Ultron features Elizabeth Olsen, who reportedly be playing Scarlet Witch.

But as any Marvel nerd worth his salt will tell you, it’s the villains that make or break a comic book movie, and Ultron has the potential to be the most badass bad guy to ever hit the screen.

The only thing about this movie that we’re not super-psyched on is the release date. Sadly, Age of Ultron doesn’t hit theaters until 2015.
