Rosie O'Donnell accepted the Isabelle Stevenson Award at the 2014 Tony Awards last night, and while her acceptance speech was both humorous and heartfelt, it was Rosie's slender figure that really left the crowd in awe.
The actress and comedian underwent gastric bypass surgery earlier this year and the procedure clearly had the desired effect.
O'Donnell posted before and after weight loss photos back in April, but last night's ceremony marked her first major public appearance since dropping over 50 pounds.
The 52-year-old mother of five has been open about her past struggles with obesity. She described her weight loss surgery in detail during a recent interview:
"They remove two-thirds of your stomach," O"donnell told Access Hollywood. "Everything else stays intact, and as a result of that, you can't hold as much food."
O'Donnell added that feels "less shame" about her body these days, but cautioned fans against thinking of the gastric sleeve procedure as a cure-all:
"You can't just get surgery and go 'I'm done' and keep eating the way you did. You have to change the way you eat, you have to exercise."
The combination has clearly worked wonders for O'Donnell. Check out the video above to marvel at how slender and energetic she is these days.
