Five months after Waka Flocka Flame’s brother KayO Redd died, the rapper opened up about the tragedy on Monday night's Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
Waka's fans were either unaware this had taken place, and/or so moved by his heartfelt words that they took to Twitter to mourn KayO en masse.
You'll have to watch Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta online to truly appreciate his heartfelt words, but Waka made more than a few living rooms dusty Monday.
The phrase “Aww Waka” even trended on Twitter.
His wife, Tammy Rivera, has been there for support through and through, but he clearly chose to open up to his fans as well with this outpouring.
KayO Redd died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on December 29.
The 27-year-old was in the midst of launching his own rap career at the time and had even promoted his latest musical efforts that same day.
Waka Flocka Flame reached out on Twitter after KayO’s death, first saying “God please bless me,” and later linking to a touching photo of his sibling.
Hang in there, Waka.
