Michael Jace, an actor best known for playing police officers on The Shield and Southland, called authorities last night and admitted that he shot his wife.
Few details are available at this time, but Jace phoned 911 around 8:30 p.m. and told the operator "I shot my wife."
The call took place shortly after Jace's neighbors in Los Angeles had reported shots being fired next door.
The 40-year old actor reportedly remained on the phone with 911 until officers arrived, at which time they found April Jace’s dead body.
Jace was then taken into custody for questioning. At this time, no charges have been filed.
A New Jersey native, Jace also played role in Planet of the Apes and Forrest Gump.
