The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 9 Episode 2 Recap: Vicki's New Ally

Monday night's The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 9 Episode 2 saw the continuation of the ladies' latest season and all the drama therein.

In “Meet and Potatoes,” the relationship of Vicki and Brooks is questioned (yet again), and Heather “Fancy Pants” Dubrow is urged to let loose and party.

Meanwhile, Heather introduces her plastic friends to her new neighbor and a spooky themed dinner. Even spookier than their normal dinners, even.

If you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online, you know there are casting changes afoot in Season 9, namely the arrival of we Shannon Beador.

One of the more interesting dynamics of the Bravo show so far this spring is how the new cast member and Vicki Gunvalson seem to be hitting it off.

Is it 'cause she knows she's on the verge of kissing her friendships with Tamra Barney (sorry, Tamra Judge) and Heather Dubrow goodbye for good?

That would be pretty self-aware for Vicki, but given her co-stars' take on Brooks Ayers, even she has to see the writing on the wall here, we'd imagine.

Perhaps it's for this reason that she's glommed on to Shannon early and often. If Tamra and Heather bail, she'll need to new allies in the OC, bitch.

Or maybe we're just being cynical. Maybe Vicki is just so captivated by the fact that she shares a star sign with a woman who keeps nine limes in a basket.

In her kitchen. At all times.

Whatever the reason, it appears at least partially genuine. When Shannon and husband David began to bicker, it hit a little close to home for Vicki.

She and Donn just finalized their divorce, and there were parallels here. It's never fun to watch for anyone who is in or has been in an unhappy marriage.

Of course, she could have Vicki as a shoulder to cry upon in the event things truly go south. That would make for both some irony and a true ally.

What did you think of The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 9 Episode 2? Do you like Shannon Beador so far? Discuss in the comments.

I don't see much of a review of the episode here but rather your thoughts on the characters relationships. Was hoping to read more about the actual episode.
