It's nice to know that crime doesn't always pay.
With Teresa Giudice awaiting sentencing on charges of fraud, The Real Housewives of New Jersey star won't be able to rely on profits from her book sales to foot any impending legal bills.
According to figures from Nielsen BookScan, Giudice’s "Fabulicious! On The Grill" sold 5,920 copies from its May 1, 2013, release date until the end of the year.
That's not terrible.
But it's only moved 80 copies since then, a decrease of 97% in sales rate.
Sales of Giudice's previous books - "Fabulicious! Fast & Fit" and "Fabulicious! Teresa’s Italian" - are also way down.
Earlier this month, documents leaked that depicted just how Teresa and Joe Giudice lived a lavish lifestyle way beyond their means.
Court papers revealed that Giudices reside in a $1.7 million house; and own a Maserati, an Escalade and a Ford 350. Incredibly, NONE of these luxury items are paid off.
Now, though, Teresa may need to pay for her illegal mistakes. Literally.
"Her book sales have been very low, and Teresa hasn’t been offered any gigs for paid promotional appearances either,” a source tells Radar. “It’s a foregone conclusion, Teresa absolutely will have to sell her beloved New Jersey mansion. She’s terrified she could end up homeless."
