The ladies of the OC are back on our televisions as The Real Housewives of Orange County season 9 kicked off last night. Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Barney-Judge, and Heather Dubrow are joined this season by new housewives Shannon Beador and Lizzie Rovsek.
Shannon is obsessed with all things "green" to the point that I propose a new drinking game for future episodes: take a shot every time Shannon says the word "organic."
As for Heather and the other ladies? It's been quite the off-season. Take a look at these photos from the premiere and keep reading for the recap.
Heather and Terry are building a new house after selling their previous, "too small" house for $16.4 million dollars. They're all currently living in a rental which is smaller than their old garage and the close family time is making Terry a little nutty.
The matriarch of the Dubrow clan keeps booking jobs and flew to Hawaii during the premiere to film a guest role on Hawaii Five-0. Tamra and newly divorced Vicki tagged along for a girl's trip.
Before hitting Hawaii, Heather got the chance to meet newcomer Shannon Beador. They share the same builder and will share the same neighborhood when Heather and Terry's new mansion is completed in two years.
They seem to sort of know one another because their children attend the same school, but it's not clear just how well they know each other. They make plans to get together when Heather gets back to town and just like that, a new housewife is initiated.
If you'll remember Heather's introduction to the show also had to do with real estate. Tamra Barney, then working as a real estate agent, showed her a house or two.
But Tamra's not working as a real estate agent anymore. She and Eddie have opened CUT Fitness and the gym is breaking even after only 9 months being open. It probably doesn't hurt that the gym is featured on Bravo, but whatever.
It also probably doesn't hurt that Eddie Judge is one of the trainers and fitness instructors there and the ladies love Eddie Judge.
Vicki's divorce is finally final, Brianna and Ryan have moved out of her home and are expecting another baby and facing a move to Oklahoma, and Brooks is still in the picture, but in what capacity, we're not sure. Vicki knows that no one likes him and doesn't like to talk about it.
(Vicki. Newsflash, honey. If NO ONE LIKES HIM, there's PROBABLY a good reason!)
While in Hawaii, Tamra and Vicki vow to get Heather to let her hair down, but that's not Heather's style. The buttoned up "fancypants" doesn't like to lose control of herself, which, given the fact that they're followed around by cameras nearly 24/7 is probably a good idea.
Producers are clearly painting Heather to be the villain this season emphasizing her constant "right-ness" as seen by Vicki and Tamra.
DON'T MESS WITH HEATHER!
That, in a nutshell, is what you missed. You can watch all the drama unfold over at TV Fanatic if you watch The Real Housewives of Orange County online.
