The official explanation for Miley Cyrus’ hospitalization is that the star was recovering from an allergic reaction to the antibiotic Cephalexin.
Now, many are pointing out that negative side effects from Cephalexin are extremely rare and reactions that would necessitate a 9-day hospital stay such as Miley are far more uncommon.
All of this begs the question: did Miley lie abut her illness?
The newest print edition of Star magazine claims sources close to Miley are certain that her recent medical issues are a direct result of her hard-partying ways.
Their theory is that even if Miley didn’t overdose or require some sort of in-patient detox treatment, then doctors simply kept her hospitalized to ensure she wouldn’t use any drugs that might negatively interact with her medications.
Miley’s drug of choice is weed, of course, but depending on what she’d been prescribed, even the act of smoking could’ve had harmful consequences.
Miley stuck to her story throughout her hospitalization and the cancelation of several concert dates on her Bangerz tour, so if the real cause of her illness was different from her publicist’s explanation, it’s unlikely that the truth will come out at this point.
Of course, Miley tweeted about 4/20 during her downtime, so if the goal was to get her off drugs, we’re guessing that mission was unsuccessful.
