The road was tough and the journey difficult, but Lamar Odom is back in the NBA.
The estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian signed an unusual contract with the New York Knicks yesterday, coming on board for the final game of their 2013-2014 season (a loss last night in which he did not play) and agreeing to a team option for the 2014-2015 season.
Based on the deal, the Knicks can see what sort of shape Odom is in this summer before deciding to pick up said option or not.
Odom, a Queens native, enjoyed some of his most productive seasons playing for Coach Phil Jackson, who is now the New York President.
He last played in the NBA for the Clippers during the 2012-2013 season and signed with a team in Spain this year, though he only played two games for Laboral Kutxa Baskonia.
Lamar, of course, has become far better known in recent years for his exploits away from the court.
He battled a substance abuse problem for most of last year, splitting with Khloe over it and also over his infidelity.
Insiders have claimed Odom still believed he had a chance to make his marriage work, but has now given up hope and is jealous of French Montana for sticking it to Kardashian these days.
And how's this for irony: Odom may play for New York this fall, while Khloe will be filming Kourtney & Khloe Take The Hamptons... also in New York!
