Today Show Anchors: No Makeup Monday!

Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, and the rest of the anchors at NBC's Today celebrated "No Makeup Monday" by ... well, you can most likely figure it out.

As part of the "Love Your Selfie" series, the trio went makeup-free with Natalie Morales, Tamron Hall, Willie Geist, Hoda Kotb, Kathie Lee Gifford and Carson Daly.

Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer: No Makeup!
Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer go makeup free on the Today Show February 24, 2014.

"Did it get pale and pasty in here or is it just me" Lauer joked.

No Matt, it's not just you. But you are still a sexy beast, man.

With no foundation or bronzer available, some of the journalists admitted that appearing on high-definition TV was more challenging than everyday life.

"There's a difference in walking around your neighborhood without makeup and then being on national TV without makeup," Hall said this morning.

"TV is a little less forgiving," Savannah Guthrie confirmed.

Kotb copped to wanting a little something to feel more like herself. "I like to have lipstick on," she said. "If I have nothing on, but I have lipstick, I feel better."

Kudos to Today for doing this even if it was difficult and potentially causes Matt severe PTSD. Check out other celebrities without makeup below:

As a consultant for Rodan and Fields AntiAge skin care I thought that I recognized some of our products on the make up table. I was so excited to see that even the big stars had also found this bit of magic for our skin. Loved the theme for this week.

Not having make up on for a few minutes on live tv, does make a small statement. However, not wearing make up on for the entire duration of the show, makes a bigger statement. Furthermore, not wearing make up ever on live tv makes an IMPACT!!!! I find it kind of silly that many talk show hosts have jumped on the wagon to have a segment dedicated to "no make up", but if you truly feel comfortable and as Matt, and Savannah and several of you eluded that what is most important comes from within then why not revolutionize live TV and do not use make up at all? Just a thought. By the way, you all look great without make up. Have a great day.
