Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Episode 19 Recap: Black, White and Boring

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Let's give Pretty Little Liars points for trying.

Not a great deal actually went down on Pretty Little Liars Season 4 Episode 19, after all. Barely anything at all went down, in fact.

But at least producers delivered an unusual, different sort of filler installment, one that took place almost entirely inside Spencer's head and one that was filmed almost entirely in black and white.

It certainly looked cool. Even if we were left wanting a lot more after the closing credits rolled.

Spencer is starting to truly crack up from her pill popping, that's the key takeaway to all this. She clearly needs help.

And there were some impressive visuals throughout the hour, along with some exciting noir scenes… but they didn't actually happen. So who cares, right? What a waste of time.

There's a killer to catch, people! There's a lot more about a returning Ali to discover!

We were left at the end, however, with the major tease that it's time to tell Aria about Ezra. Will the girls finally do so? Should they finally do so? Let's hope so.

The craziness teased for next week's installment may make up for the cop out laziness of this one, storyline-wise at least.
