The feud between Ariana Grande and Perez Hilton appears to be escalating, with the singer considering legal action against the celebrity gossip site owner.
At issue? His allegations that she is using cocaine.
Hilton claims that Ariana fans crossed the line by sending death threats to his baby son, however, and called out Grande for being complicit in her silence.
Then came his accusations that she's on drugs.
On Sunday, the blogger berated her with faux concern: “Are you okay? I heard someone saw you doing cocaine at a party! Stay away from drugs Ariana!!!”
Perez also tweeted to her brother Frankie, “Please make sure Ariana stays away from cocaine. I’m hearing awful things about what she’s been doing!”
He even wrote to her employer Nickelodeon, where the actress works on Sam & Cat, saying, “Hopefully you guys can help her before it’s too severe!”
What's severe is likely to be her legal response.
Grande, by all accounts, lives up to her clean reputation; she is said to be so anti-drugs that she’s even afraid to take over-the-counter meds like aspirin.
A close Grande source already responded that Perez’s claims are “all lies” and “not true" and that she is planning to sue the blogger for his false claims.
Many immediately speculated that the cocaine allegations may be part of a “vendetta” by Perez Hilton, who allegedly tried to be Grande’s manager.
He “approached her and got rejected,” says a close family confidant, who feels his attack against the 20-year-old and her legion of fans is “personal.”
It may also be retribution for the bullying he feels he's being subjected to ... ironically for bullying Grande (who has not responded personally to this).
Perez wrote to Grande, “For every day your fans continue to spam me on social media, I will continue to tweet you. I know you see my tweets. I win! :-)”
Or not. Insiders say the rising star's camp takes this defamation of character very seriously and is already "hiring litigators to sue him for slander.”
