Leighton Meester is headed back to New York.

The actress, best known for her role as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, will make her Broadway debut this spring in a stage production of Of Mice and Men.

The actress will star in the play – based on John Steinbeck’s 1973 bestseller – opposite James Franco and Chris O’Dowd.

Franco and O’Dowd will portray main characters/brothers George and Lennie, respectively, while Meester will come on board as Curley’s flirtatious wife.

She will get close to O’Dowd’s simple-minded, tragic character.

Tony Award winner Anna D. Shapiro will direct the production, which marks the first time the play has been seen on Broadway in four decades.

Tickets go on sale January 11 and the play premiere April 16. It runs through July 27.

Meester, meanwhile, also has a reason to celebrate in her personal life: she’s engaged to Adam Brody!

We send the actress the very best of luck on stage and in her impending marriage.
