Britney Spears' Las Vegas residency kicks off this weekend amid at least some doubts that the one-time princess of pop music can still bring 'em in.
Her album, Britney Jean, brought in the worst sales of her career to date, and her I Am Britney Jean documentary netted a modest 706,000 viewers.
When Spears’ documentary For the Record aired on MTV in 2009, it averaged 3.7 million viewers, more than five times what the 2013 model garnered.
Britney Jean debuted at #4 earlier this month with just over 64,000 copies sold during her first week on shelves, giving her her worst showing ever.
Will her much-anticipated two-year Vegas show suffer similarly mediocre results? We'll find out in a matter of hours. She takes the stage tonight.
Despite the fact that her team slammed reports of sluggish ticket sales, seats are still available for purchase for Brit's opening night and future shows.
Then again, there's also still time for the word to get out and for her to exceed expectations. Britney has been down before and bounced back strong.
A Vegas residency is a different ballgame, so don't write her off.
