Beyonce has given fans an early Christmas present and a huge Christmas surprise:
She just released a brand new album! Full of 14 songs! And 17 videos!
Titled "BEYONCE" and available only on iTunes, the album is described by the artist as "visual' and was released without a single word of hype.
"I see music," Beyonce said of the release. "It’s more than just what I hear. When I’m connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they’re all connected to the music."
Chatter over a new Beyonce album has been present on the Internet over the past few months, but there had been no confirmation that anything was actually in the works.
Heck, perhaps the superstar herself released this Beyonce meme in order to distract us from the possibility.
"I didn’t want to release my music the way I’ve done it. I am bored with that," Beyonce said in a press release. "I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There’s so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready and from me to my fans."
According to this same press release, the album is "a non-linear journey through the thoughts and visions of Beyoncé."
It includes videos that were co-directed by Knowles and shot in locations across the globe such as Brazil, New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and the singer's home of Houston.
So stop staring at those Beyonce bikini photos and get over to iTunes, people! Stockings are waiting to be stuffed.
