Woman Actually Dresses as Boston Marathon Bombing Victim for Halloween

by at .  Updated at . Comments

Halloween may be over. But the consternation over certain costume ideas may last forever.

First, there were the two morons who dressed up like Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman, bloody hooded sweatshirt included.

Then, there were these Asiana Airlines pilot costumes, as trick-or-treaters mocked the plane crash that killed two passengers in July.

But we now appear to have a winner for Most Offensive Costume in the History of Mankind: A young woman from Michigan posted a photo online of herself decked out like a victim of April's Boston Marathon bombing.

Really. We wish we were making this up:

Boston Marathon Victim Costume

The idiot in question has been identified as 22-year-old Alicia Ann Lynch, but it's hard to blame one Twitter user for referring to Alicia as "@someSKANKinMI," isn't it?

Vote now: is this the most insensitive costume you've ever seen?

UPDATE: Lynch has apologized and asked people to end their death threats.

We need a social media award equivalent to the Darwin Awards. This fat chick CLEARLY gets it for 2013!! Hurry, there's two months left in 2013 if you want to have a shot as Moron on the Year 2013.

Again, I like how your poll only involves "YES" answers and not "NO" answers.

what the heck

This is so wrong. Why mimic tragic events?! If someone in her family was hurt or killed that day I'm sure this would not have been her costume. Like everyone else said this was all for attention.

People who are deliberately offensive do it because they thrive on the attention, even if it's negative attention. If they were ignored, they would disappear. So this woman, and the others described in the article, now have exactly what they want. They'll deal with it as they can.

While I agree with your message, it's really inappropriate to publish her full name and state in the article. You should remove that.

@ NachoKingP

Actually, that is how the media works, Nacho. As long as she isn't a victim the author has every right to post her name.

It was even more inappropriate to imitate a bomber and admire them enough to dress like them on Halloween. . Living proof-this is a country that will do anything to get attention and it's doubtful name publishing could shame or influence someone who would dress the part- to begin with. you Free Spirited Liberals- aren't you just so advanced?
