Almost overlooked in the awesomeness that is the first Maleficent trailer, which dropped yesterday? Angelina Jolie's daughter Vivienne's big screen debut!
It was rumored months ago that Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, who turned five this year, would play a small role. Turns out that role is a young Princess Aurora:
Romping through the fields in pursuit of a butterfly, without a care in the world, Vivienne appears in the first scene of the first Maleficent trailer.
Later, we see the older version of character played by Elle Fanning (below).
Vivienne will even have some lines in the film, according to reports, while her older siblings Pax, 9, and Zahara, 8, will also have cameo appearances.
Jolie also said this summer that she won the part because she wasn't scared of her mother's makeup, which is not a small factor. She's intense!
"Vivienne was the only 4-year-old who wouldn't scream," Jolie joked.
Whether or not she turns this Maleficent moment into a film career, it’s way too early to tell. But if nothing else, it was clearly a thrill for her parents.
Interestingly, Fanning, 15, also got her start working with family. She played a younger version of her sister Dakota in 2001's I Am Sam at age 2!
Maleficent, the live-action story of the Sleeping Beauty villain, and all its creatures, castles, and visually imaginative Disney magic, opens May 30, 2014.
