Lily Allen "Hard Out Here" Music Video Parodies Robin Thicke, Takes on Gender Issues

by at . Comments

Lily Allen has released her first new song since 2009, and "Hard Out Here" makes up for lost time, taking on misogyny and gender issues in an unabashed, raunchy fashion.

The introductory scene to the music video depicts the British singer getting liposuction as the surgeon informs her that she "let herself go" after having two kids.

The NSFW song only gets better (and even more NSFW) from there.

The song is that rare mix of hilarious, serious and musically addicting.

"I don't need to shake my ass for you because I've got a brain," Allen sings, as Twerking backup dancers do their thing, but only to mock the trend's prevalence.

The incredibly catchy track's chorus, meanwhile, lambasts casual use of the word "b-tch" in pop culture: "It's hard out here for a b-tch," Allen repeatedly sings.

As for the Robin Thicke reference ... just skip ahead to 3:00 or so.

Why couldn't she just hire white twerkers instead of black ones. This twirking bullshit has got zero to do with black culture, it's got everything to do with an ever present idiotic sub culture from a bored generation with zero better to do but show thier ass. Be they Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian or Black.
