She’s playing everyone’s favorite President-loving political fixer on Scandal season 3 but Kerry Washington hosted Saturday Night Live and demonstrated that she can wear more than just a White Hat.
Washington is the 9th Black woman to host the show in its entire 38 year run, and of the 137 actors to grace the stage as cast members, only 4 of them have been African-American.
Throughout the evening, Kerry helped SNL make fun of themselves for their recent diversity issues, chiefly by pointing out that there isn’t really much diversity on the show at all.
They jumped right into their self-mockery with the cold open, featuring Kerry Washington as both Michelle Obama and Oprah.
