Rescue dog Rupee has become the first pooch to scale Mt. Everest.
And he was adorable while doing it, too.
The pup, formerly homeless, was rescued and nursed back to health by avid pet-rescuer Joanne Lefson, who hiked to the top of the summit alongside her four-legged friend.
While Rupee did have his own sherpa, doctors felt confident the canine would not be in danger of altitude sickness because he was a native of the Himalayas.
Watch his amazing ascent now!
The hike took 13 days, with most of those being the duo's trip to the top of Mt. Everest. They stopped along the way so that Lefson could acclimate and so that the dog could rest.
Lefson and Rupee have returned to her home in South Africa where they are planning their next adventure. Hear what Lefson had to say about her extraordinary animal after the jump.
