A show known more for laughs than violence is set to take out one of its own.
Executive Producer Al Jean says The Simpsons will celebrate its 25th season at some point in the near future by killing off a long-time character. Who might it be?
"I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is," Jean told reporters during a recent conference call.
Hmmm… that does actually narrow down the list by quite a lot.
Kelsey Grammar won an Emmy for playing Sideshow Bob, while the same can be said for Jackie Mason as Rabbi Krustofsky; Julie Kavner as Marge's mother, Jacqueline Bouvier; and Marcia Wallace as Mrs. Krabappel.
Dan Castellaneta and Hank Azaria have also taken home Emmys, but they voice multiple characters.
Over the years, this classic sitcom has ended the lives of Frank Grimes, Bleeding Gums Murphy and, Ned Flanders' wife, Maud, among others.
