Rachael Sacks, Rich College Student, Slams Poor People For Making Her Feel Bad

by at . Comments

Rachael Sacks, a 20-year-old Manhattan college student, has ruffled some feathers online with a blog post in which she embraces her family's affluence.

The article's unabashed title, "I’m Not Going to Pretend That I’m Poor to Be Accepted by You,” gives you an indication of where she's coming from with this.

“I’m not one of those people who try to be poor to relate to people,” she writes.

“I am sorry I was born into great financial circumstances and my father likes to provide for me. I am sorry I don’t have to go to a state school to save my parents money."

"What do you want from me?”

What sparked this defense of her privileged upbringing, which landed her on the cover of the New York Post - which she embraced with the same unapologetic attitude?

Rachael Sacks said she was snubbed by a cashier and customer at a Gristedes grocery store as she held a “big a** shopping bag” from the Mulberry sale she’d just attended.

“What the f--k? Could they not be that obvious?" Sacks said.

"I should have stopped at my apartment and put my bags down then if they were going to judge me like that. And I got my purse at a 70 percent discount so they can f--k off."

Sacks had to know she would spark an online rage-fest with her essay about how all the rest of us will just have to effing deal with her being a pampered daddy’s girl.

Saturday, standing at the entrance of her daddy-funded Christopher Street apartment, Sacks (above) seemed to bask in the attention she swears she doesn't want.

She later went on to say that “people shouldn’t make others feel bad about their own personal finances,” and that in the end, this says more about those who are jealous.

“It just seems really petty and makes you look bitter and unhappy with your own life if you are casting nasty glares at college girls in Gristedes because you’re a cashier.”

Ouch. What do you think of Rachael's commentary?

Does she have a point about people giving her a hard time for no reason? Or do you think that she should be a bit more humble here? A little of both?

While I do believe this young, er, lady is quite the douche bag, I must say I do somewhat agree with her. I have a very nice car, which my husband purchased for me because it had a high safety rating to get our children from point A to point B. I get constant grief from people who seem to think that because I have a nice car I should fund them too. I have been harassed at gas stations, pharmacies, the ,arket, and car washes. At times I have felt like I was happier in my junky car, I was definitely harassed less. I don't understand why some people feel so entitled or put off by someone else having something nicer.

you would think she has enough money for a manicure..

As the old saying goes, "Money can't buy class." What a rude little turd! She will need her money. She'll have to buy a man to put up with her!

Hey, Missy Spears, I agree. This young lady has no class, and to be honest it is not her that is loaded with all of those riches, it is her parents who must have had great business sense in order to obtain the wealth to keep this young lady in her riches. I have only one other thought an that is, she needs to finish her college education, so that she is able to finance her own family as well as her parents have been able to finance her. After all you can't live off of mommy and daddy your entire life!!

I don't care if your rich or poor. But what a Snobbish, Un classy , Bitch! It always easy when you hide in Daddy's Pocket. How does she know that the customer and cashier didn't have a bad day, maybe it had nothing to do with her. Talk about judging people . She was assuming that they were jealous of her because of a as She put it Big A** Shopping Bag from Mulberry.

I got crap from people a few times...I was wearing an Ed Hardy Hoodie, Ed Hardy long sleeve tee with some kind of flaming skull geisha girls design, crusted in crystals, and a pair of ed hardy high tops...and a designer bag from goodwill...plus my kindle fire HD. Someone said...oh Ed Hardy, I like their stuff, but it's only for rich people. So I said, "yeah I know, but there is this place called Burlington Coat Factory...." I'm definitely not rich, but I am also not so poor that I am homeless either...I choose to dress nice, but only if it's done on the cheap. I also had a doctor in the ER tell me, you can afford a taxi home if you can afford your Nintendo 3DS you have there. The DS was a gift, and I get free medical transportation because I am disabled..but he was refusing to let me call for my ride.

People judge all over thr world rather your poor or rich. Its all about how you put your self out there who cares if your rich if you have money buy what you want its your business. If your poor and dont like being poor do something about it. If you like your life how it is then leave others alone . Im a middle-class woman that had to do things and learn things on my own. If i would pretend that im rich im not being my self people cry over fake people i think her being real is a good thing and i dont think she needs to act poor to fit in

So how much of Daddy's money will it take to clean up her language. She is young yet and doesn't know the saying that the money can be taken away as fast as it's given to you. She needs to work in a soup kitchen and learn to be a little more humble.

Honestly I think she is one bad ass chick that deserves a Breakfast Club fist bump. She has a point. We don't get mad at people with less money for having no money so why are people getting mad at someone with money who comes from a family that worked hard for it.

@ Kathryn

The hell people don't get mad at others for not having money! Homeless people and folks living in Section 8 housing aren't looked down upon and treated poorly for not having money?! The whole Republican party hates poor people, that's why they are trying so hard to put restrictions on welfare, etc... because they don't want to pay more taxes to fund these programs which help the poor.
And that girl is full of it if she is trying to say that she has never passed judgement on or made “others feel bad about their own personal finances”

What a bitch she has no class. She better live off her dad's money as long as she can cause she won't ever find a man to provide or want that ugly ass

At least she's rich cause she definitely doesn't have the looks to make up for it.
