Jennifer Ehle has been cast as Ana Steele's mom in the upcoming film adaptation of the hit mommy porn novel Fifty Shades of Grey, reports say.
The actress will portray Carla, the mother of Dakota Johnson's lead character and lovely Christian Grey plaything, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Ehle signing on completes another piece of the casting puzzle, although the key roles of Kate Kavanagh and Elliot Grey remain vacant as of this report.
The Fifty Shades of Grey movie is set to hit screens in August 2014. The two lead roles were confirmed last month in Johnson and Charlie Hunnam.
Fans weren't exactly over the moon with the choices, with reactions ranging from apathetic to launching an online petition for a new Christian and Ana.
Some even started bogus rumors that Hunnam was quitting the project over the widespread fan unrest. He's not, but the hoax itself tells you a lot.
Following the negative reaction, Fifty Shades of Grey movie producer Dana Brunetti took to Twitter to urge fans to wait to see the movie before judging:
“There is a lot that goes into casting that isn’t just looks. Talent, availability, their desire to do it, chemistry with other actor, etc,” he tweeted last month.
“So if your favorite wasn’t cast, then it is most likely due to something on that list. Try to keep that in mind while hating and keep perspective.”
Author EL James also thanked fans for their passion and asked for patience.
