Sorry, Walter White.
It turns out your death was only the second biggest demise of the weekend.
With television viewers in America reacting in praise and in shock over last night's Breaking Bad finale, readers in Great Britain are up in arms for an entirely different reason:
Mark Darcy is dead!
London's The Sunday Times ran an excerpt yesterday from Helen Fielding's Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy - and it revealed that the author has killed off Bridget's dashing husband, leaving this heroine a single mother of two.
Fans of the series, who have waited 14 years for the third installment, aren't exactly happy with the unexpected development.
"Saw the news about the Bridget jones sequel, it comes out on my birthday and Mark Darcy is DEAD!!!! Awful news #birthdayruined," Tweeted one sad Internet user, while another added:
"One word for Helen Fielding: why?!"
Fielding's first Bridget Jones's Diary was published in 1996 and a sequel, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, was released three years later. Both were turned into successful films.
Mad About the Boy, meanwhile, officially comes out on October 10, with negative feedback unlikely to affect its sales.
