NCIS Spinoff: Coming to CBS, Set for New Orleans

Breaking Bayou news out of CBS:

The network has announced that it will air a two-part NCIS episode this spring that serves as a backdoor pilot to another spinoff of the successful series, this one to be set in New Orleans.

If picked up, the new series would then be a part of the CBS 2014-2015 schedule and produced by Gary Glasberg and Mark Harmon. It would chronicle cases from Pensacola through Mississippi, Louisiana to the Texas panhandle.

NCIS, of course, was spunoff from JAG, and it then led to the creation of NCIS: Los Angeles, which is the second highest-rated show on television.

NCIS Season 11, meanwhile, kicks off tonight. Watch a preview below:
