I don't apologize for anything.
So says Miley Cyrus in a new MTV documentary titled "Miley: The Movement," in which the singer is asked about all her headline-generating songs, videos and Twerks from the past few weeks.
It was "a strategic hot mess," Cyrus said of her VMA performance with Robin Thicke. "If I wanted a raunchy sex show, I wouldn't have been dressed as a damned bear."
Miley also bristles at the notion that she's doing anything different than Britney Spears or Madonna have done in the past, asking: "How many times have you seen this play out in pop?" and saying she's simply "the next" singer to break out of a younger shell.
"I am very comfortable with my sexuality," she tells the network," explaining that she needed to "let go of the [Hannah Montana] past" in order to tackle the next stage of her career.
She can be the "bad bitch I am."
Pharrell, meanwhile, chimes in and says fans will see a whole new side of Miley when "Bangerz" is released on October 8. No, not a naked side.
"Don't be fooled," says the artist who worked with Cyrus on the record.. "When people are going, 'Why is she twerking? Why is she doing this?' Because she is a byproduct of America."
We're not totally sure what that means. But, hey, we're excited for the CD!
