Katy Perry, "Roar" Dethrone Robin Thicke, Claim Billboard #1 Spot

by at . Comments

Hear Katy Perry "Roar," indeed. The pop superstar's latest hit single has officially wrested the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 from Robin Thicke.

Thicke's "Blurred Lines" had a 12-week run at the top - one of only 14 tracks ever to keep the #1 spot that long - but as the summer ends, so did its reign.

Katy Perry‘s “Roar” has doned “Blurred Lines” in, with the first release from her upcoming album Prism marking her eighth #1 on the Hot 100 career.

Her last #1 was 2012′s “Part Of Me.” Katy's most recent single, “Wide Awake,” peaked at #2 on the Hot 100 last year ... a relative disappointment for her.

“Roar” has so such problems, selling 448,000 digital downloads last week alone and gaining strength ever since release. It's a champion, you could say.

As an artist, she certainly doesn't lack for effort, theatrics and production value. Watch the just-released Katy Perry "Roar" music video above!

she is my friend................BUT THERE IS MORE, folks. (much more)

I love Katy Perry and her new song Roar.but she Owes a debt of thanks to Sara Bareills for virtually having the same song in "Brave" same tempo and all! They both deserve to be on the too of the charts in my opinion. Congrats none the less!
