George Zimmerman: In Custody on Suspicion of Battery After Gun Dispute With Wife

by at .  Updated at . Comments

George Zimmerman is reportedly in custody following a dispute involving his wife.

Police in Lake Mary, Florida, said that Zimmerman is being held at a residence of a relative on suspicion of domestic battery of his estranged wife.

There is a gun at the home and police are investigating whether it was used.

It's unclear what caused the fight between George and Shellie Zimmerman.

He hasn't been arrested. Rather, "as of right now, he has been placed in investigative detention," Lake Mary, Fla., police spokesman Zach Hudson said.

Hudson said there were three parties involved in the domestic altercation.

The incident comes two months after Zimmerman, a volunteer neighborhood watch captain, was found not guilty of murder in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Just last week, Shellie Zimmerman filed for divorce from George.

Story developing ...

UPDATE: According to TMZ, Shellie called 911 and said her father and George got into a big argument and that George had his hand on a gun.

UPDATE: ABC News reports, quoting her lawyer, that Zimmerman pulled a knife on her today after she discovered a firearm in the house they shared.

He then pulled a gun on his wife and her dad after a verbal altercation, Kelly Sims claims. George Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O'Mara, has yet to comment.

UPDATE: George used a gun to threaten his wife and her father, according to the 911 call she made, and she was terrified he was going to shoot them.

Shellie Zimmerman placed the call, claiming George punched her father in the nose and was making threats with his hand on his gun. She says.

"He's just threatening all of us with his firearm ... he's gonna shoot us!"

To Cheryl every race of people have good and bad people in it. For you to make a comment about black people being the most racist and the most violent people in the USA well it just proves the point that anybody can be a nigger.

Go ahead and cry. Black people are still the most violent and racist people in this country. Making Zimmerman guilty does not change the facts and it does not change the America publics opinion on blacks.

TBH, Im not surprised shes distancing herself from him....anyone close to him will be in danger from the blacks for the rest of their lives.

wouldn't be the first estranged man to have a wife that cries wolf....but it sure doesn't look good. He pretty much has to be on his toes the rest of his life to ensure no one ever accuses him of anything, rightly or wrongly.

Yeah, turn on your own family now. Good job, they stood by you as you took a boy's life, now it's there turn, many more to come, Luv it.

There's more than one way to skin a cat. Karma is a b!tch and one way or another, this idiot will get what's coming to him...

Sorry to burst everyone's bubble, but GZ was NEVER taken into custody, he did NOT have a gun and his wife and father in law did NOT press charges. She's divorcing him and will make his life as miserable as possible. I expected more thorough updates from HG, guess I was mistaken. Settle down people.

Well, well, this one has been in quite a bit of trouble lately....better keep His nose clean.....
