Scooter Braun Rejects American Idol

by at . Comments

The search continues for American Idol.

Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban are on board to judge the new season, but a third panelist is proving to be elusive.

Kanye West said no. Diddy said no. Dr. Luke came close to accepting and now we've learned that Scooter Braun is also out.

A source close to the manager and close friend of Justin Bieber gave a simple reason for Braun turning down the show's request: he saw no point in doing it.

"The only reason to do it at this point is vanity and he doesn't do things for vanity," the insider said of Braun. "Without the right to manage the acts, it makes no business sense for him and ultimately he's a business guy."

Indeed, Braun cannot manage the career of contestants beyond the show because there's a deal in place with Simon Fuller and Entertainment 19.

So it's back to the drawing board for Idol. We hear Paris Hilton is available.

Kanye and Diddy weren't a good fit for Idol; plus after Carey received her obscene salary last year, Idol's not making that mistake again. Everyone should sit back and cool it like Urban. He put up with the divas last year w/o breaking a sweat or saying anything stupid, and is doing the same thing with all the rumors flying about. He and Conant would be good judges, intelligent and considerate in their judging; quality guys who would be enjoyable to watch each week, unlike last year's fiasco.
