Controversy? What controversy?!?
With negative reaction to Miley Cyrus' VMA routine continuing to pour in, the singer's manager tells Us Weekly that he and Miley's team are thrilled with how the performance went.
"We were all cheering from the side of the stage," Larry Rudolph tells the magazine of Cyrus's family and friends, including mother Tish. "It could not have gone better. The fans got it. The rest eventually will."
That hasn't been the case yet, of course.
Criticism of Miley has practically been universal, with Cyndi Lauper rebuking the artist the strongest by saying her collaborating with Robin Thicke was akin to the support of date rape.
Justin Timberlake, however, has defended Cyrus by saying she's "young" (which, ironically, was the image she was desperately trying to shake on stage) and by saying folks should relax... it's not like she Twerked at the Grammys!
Billy Ray Cyrus is also on the side of his daughter, Tweeting oddly yesterday that he would totally would have gyrated around with a fake penis back in the day.
"If twerkin woulda been invented," Billy Ray wrote. "And I had a foam finger … I woulda done the same thang you did."
