Lee Thompson Young, a veteran actor who has portrayed Detective Barry Frost on Rizzoli & Isles since 2010, was found dead today at his home in Los Angeles.

He was 29 years old.

Insiders tell TMZ that Young didn't show up to work this morning, so series staffers phoned his landlord and asked him to check on the star.

When the landlord opened the door, he discovered Young's corpse on the floor, seemingly the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Young also appeared on episodes of Smallville, The Good Guys and CSI: NY.

His death is the third to rock the television world in a week, as Gia Allemand also killed herself last Monday, while Lisa Robin Kelly died while sleeping in a rehab facility a few days ago.

We send our best wishes to Young's friends and family.

UPDATE: The actor's manager has confirmed the suicide and TNT has released the following statement in light of this tragedy...

Everyone at Rizzoli & Isles is devastated by the news of the passing of Lee Thompson Young. We are beyond heartbroken at the loss of this sweet, gentle, good-hearted, intelligent man. He was truly a member of our family.

Lee will be cherished and remembered by all who knew and loved him, both on- and offscreen, for his positive energy, infectious smile and soulful grace. We send our deepest condolences and thoughts to his family, to his friends and, most especially, to his beloved mother.

Why is people so shock when celebrity die, there life is a roller coaster ride life style, too many up and downs, drugs and alcoholic gets them thought their lives, people think it all glamor, but it not, this is the example of what a celebrity goes thought???

Life is very hard for alot of people who are not celebrities.
They really have no'Roller Coaster
Ride' unless they choose to.
I would choose 'Celebrity' over a life of money worries, nasty neighbours & a nothing, trapped existence anyday. It would be great to be known &respected for your work.Money gives you options,& that is what all humans require.-Do not blame money, recognition,or living a comfortable life for this actor's
despair. He obviously had well hidden emotional issues.

Death is always a shock, even if one thinks they're prepared for it, and with suicide, it's even more of a shock. If you haven't experienced it, you don't know.

RIP, Lee. Hope you're at peace now.

Why are people so shocked when a celebrity dies? Their life is a roller coaster lifestyle; too many ups and downs, so they use drugs and alcohol to get them through their lives. People think it is all glamour but it's not. This is an example of what celebrities go through.

To the TWO CREEPS that bring up drugs, where do you get the GONADS to even say that? Nothing and NOBODY mentioned drugs.

I was not referring to Lee in my comment but just stating a fact to the writer that some celebrities that are drug users have been unjustly labelled a suicide without conducting a proper investigation.

THIS is so dam SAD. I can't believe it. Oh, he was that LIGHT of SUNSHINE on *Rizzoli & Isles*. My God, didin't anyone see this coming? If they didin't, that is how GREAT an actor he really was. My PRAYERS go along with my thoughts to his mother. Whomever sent their feelings from *Rizzoli & Isles* did a CRAPPY job, by saying their THOUGHTS, what about their PRAYERS to soothe his mother aching heart? Apparently, they are more converned with a replacement, than sending their PRAYERS and CONDOLENCES. R.I.P Lee, and you are NOW in a much better place.

WHO... exactly is to blame when young folk go to Hollywood, make a fortune, and turn to drugs? It's called "personal accountability"

"OH... "my life was HARD"...
"I have drug problems" "I can't handle the constant Hollywood scrutiny" Go teach theater at a community college! Gutless bitches.

What is the deal with hollywood "Actor/actress-types" who overdose and die? Learn the script, hit your marks, and become the character. You bitches get a six-figure salary to play make-believe. Grow the fuck up and do your job.

It's certainly apparent that you
don't have an artistic bone in your body.,never mind a total lack of thoughtfulness or Empathy.
