Justin Bieber-Michael Jackson “Slave to the Rhythm” Collaboration: Listen Now!

by at .  Updated at . Comments

A new collaboration from two music icons of different generations, Justin Bieber and Michael Jackson, called “Slave to the Rhythm,” has hit the Internet.

Listen to the mysterious new song from JB & MJ below:

Minds? Officially blown. So what's the deal here?

“Slave to the Rhythm” was a little-known Michael Jackson song that made its way online after his death. Michael’s vocals and lyrics remain intact here.

A heavier dance beat and Justin Bieber's contributions have been added, of course, making for a monster collaboration of unknown origin and authenticity.

It's unclear whether this remix was meant to be officially released, or if it's a fan creation, though Justin’s tweets give the impression that it's legitimate.

Shortly after the song began hit YouTube and Twitter, Justin Bieber began tweeting about the King of Pop, writing, “Excited for what is to come. MJ set the bar."

"Not only for music but for being an entertainer and how u treat the fans. Wish he was here. All of it is not always easy but it is a blessing. We can change the world."

"I’m up for the challenge. Big things ahead! #greatness. love you.”

What do you think of the Michael Jackson-Justin Bieber track?

Michael Jackson's bar is too high for Beiber.. he needs to find his OWN image and if he has any, talent- Stop leeching off the Legendary Michael Jackon- His Estate says NO NO and is taking down the Beiber version under copyright llaw as soon as they are uploaded. Michael said "Study the Masters" NOT steal from them.

That was harsh, i'm not a Bieber fan at all. But give him credit for doing what any MJ fan would do. Additionally he updated a song to appeal to his followers, how is that bad? Anything that keeps MJ current is always good, be it remixes, remakes, covers. First thing any MJ fan will do after hearing this is seek out the original. Again GOOD THing.

This kids has the balls to call a song by the greatest entertainer of all time a collaboration, MJ is dead Beiber just like you re to millions of other people in the age bracket 19-99

I'm in love with the song. Two of my favorite singers in the same song. With that being said he apparently had to have someone's permission to do it, I mean he's one of the biggest stars, but he still wouldn't do anything without having the right permission etc. Justin has always been a huge fan of Michael and finds him as an inspiring artist.

You have to have some nerve to take the completed work of a deceased musician and attempt to get acclaim for it by calling it a collaboration (which it obviously isn't since Jackson is dead and recorded the song before Bieber was even born).

PLEASE ADD TO YOUR ARTICLE! The Estate of Michael Jackson said today that the Justin Bieber remix of "Slave to the Rhythm" was NOT an authorized recording. Read the full statement here (via MJJCommunity, with whom the Estate is in direct contact): http://www.mjjcommunity.com/fo... "Slave to the Rhythm" was originally recorded in 1989, and reworked after Michael Jackson's death. The full version of the song was leaked online in 2010. You can listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v... (The Bieber remix eliminated chunks of MJ's vocals, by the way. It's not left "intact.") Finally, I'll leave you with a quote from MJ himself, given in a 1996 interview with the "Black & White" French fan magazine: "The least I can say is that I don't like [remixes]. I don't like it that they come in and change my songs completely."
