It's officially, ridiculously quack-tastic.
The Duck Dynasty Season 4 premiere drew record ratings for A&E last night, as 11.8 million viewers tuned in, making the episode the most-watched nonfiction hour in the history of basic cable.
And making David McKillop - General Manager and Executive Vice President of the network - one happy man. Actually, a single "happy" doesn't cover it.
“Thanks to its authentic and engaging characters ‘Duck Dynasty’ has become more than just a reality show, it is a cultural phenomenon,” said McKillop in a statement. “We would like to thank the Robertsons for their incredible partnership. We are all Happy, Happy, Happy.”
The premiere was also viewed by 6.3 million adults in the key advertiser demographic of 18-49, yet another basic cable record.
Perhaps Willie Robertson should reconsider a run for Congress.
He'll never be more popular than he is right now. Or perhaps we'll be proven wrong: a new episode of Duck Dynasty will airs Wednesday night at 10. Who knows how high these numbers could climb?
