It is totally on between Charlotte Church and The X Factor.
The Welsh opera singer took to Twitter late last week and put the smack down on Simon Cowell's creation, telling the world:
"I got asked to do the X factor job. I'd rather poke my eyes out with sticks than be a part of the machine that kills music."
Hmmm... we wonder how the 27-year old really feels?
What, exactly, is Church's beef with the UK version of this show? She replied to a follower who asked that question:
"I had a meeting to ask about the level of involvement in the creative process I could have, and they basically said none unless it was in line with what was required. I wanted to see just how hard line it was. I found my answer and politely declined."
The British panel consists of Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Gary Barlow, with an X Factor insider rejecting Church's side of the story in an interview with The Sunday Mirror:
"She met producers at the beginning of the year but it was a very brief chat and they decided not to progress things. It was clear straightaway that she wasn't right. She was, quite frankly, boring and she was never high on the priority list as there were far bigger names producers were looking at."
We'd ask Simon Cowell for his take on this controversy, but he's a bit busy these days with Lauren Silverman.
