Lorna Elizabeth Tuck Colbert - the mother of Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert, along with 10 others - passed away on Wednesday. She was 92 years old.
According to an obituary in South Carolina's Post and Courier, Lorna was an artist, businesswoman and church leader.
She lost her husband and two kids in a 1974 plane crash, while another child died in a separate incident, leaving her survived by her remaining eight kids, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In February of last year, Stephen Colbert took a few days leave of absence to deal with an ill Lorna, only to return and give her a subtle shout-out in his first new show back:
"Evidently, having 11 children makes you tough as nails," he said. "Confidential to a lovely lady."
We send the Colbert family our thoughts and prayers.
